Gateway Behavioral Health Renovation & Expansion

BRUNSWICK, GA - Studio 8 provided design, interior design, and construction administration for this interior renovation and expansion of Gateway Behavioral Health’s treatment center in Brunswick. 

Gateway Behavioral Health Services, an office under the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability, is a public community-based organization serving eight Georgia counties: Camden, Glynn, McIntosh, Liberty, Chatham, Bryan, Long and Effingham.

The renovated facility provides medically monitored short-term stay residential services to adults including psychiatric and behavioral stabilization and detoxification in a secure environment. 

The facility houses Patient Bedrooms, Group Therapy Rooms, Isolation/Observation Rooms, Day Rooms, Group Dining and Kitchen facilities, Pharmacy, and a 23-hour Observation and Evaluation suite, Medical offices, Exam and Intake Rooms.

The interior renovation demolished interior walls to create new group activity and meeting spaces. Studio 8’s interior design department worked to select colors, finishes, and furniture which would provide a soothing and healing atmosphere for clients. Studio 8 worked very closely with Gateway’s staff to ensure their needs and goals for this project were met.
