UGA Large Animal Haul-In Facility
TIFTON, GA - This project includes design for a new 11,466 SF Large Animal Haul-In Facility for the University of Georgia in Tifton. The facility will allow the haul-in of large animals for various veterinary procedures. The new facility will improve the College of Veterinary Medicine’s ability to serve Georgia’s animal agricultural industries and will strengthen the South Georgia region overall. The new facility will feature space for the clinicians in Tifton to perform both routine and specialized food animal medical procedures in a controlled and safe environment thanks to the availability of a large hydraulic tilt chute and enclosed treatment room. In addition, this facility will help bring access to advanced reproductive technologies such as in-vitro fertilization procedures to smaller producers who may not have had access to these technologies in the past. The facility will also allow for the treatment of feet and leg problems in cattle. Areas within the building include the following: 2 Large Animal Treatment Areas; 2 Prep Labs; 1 Reproduction Lab; 2 Animal Health Labs; Mechanical Platform; Office and Storage Areas
