Studio 8 Design was founded by eight long-time associates who all held a common vision - an architectural firm focused on providing solid designs coupled with excellent service to clients.  The team is led by registered architects supported by senior project managers and a highly skilled technical production staff. 
 


Jim Ingram, AIA, NCARB

Jim has a diversified portfolio of work spanning 50+ years. His projects range from higher education to corrections facilities. The majority of Jim's work has been for governmental clients who often must find ways to meet their needs while being conscious of cost limitations. His design process involves constant consideration of two primary, driving factors - schedule and budget. He is well known for his exceptional ability to listen to clients and directly respond to their needs with cost effective design solutions. 

Bruce Smith, AIA, NCARB

Bruce's work is diversified and includes educational, multi-family housing, health care, retail, mixed-use, ecumenical, and commercial projects.  Bruce has provided architectural design services for several large, mixed-use retail developments throughout the country.  He is Past President of the Southwest Georgia Chapter of AIA and serves on the Lowndes Valdosta Arts Commission and the Public Art Advisory Committee.

Robert Byington, Associate AIA

Robert has over 30 years of experience in the field of Architecture.  He has significant experience in the design and management of multi-family housing and affordable housing projects throughout Georgia and the Southeast.  Robert's expertise lies within the application and design requirements of new construction and renovation projects meeting program requirements of HUD, USDA Rural Development, and Georgia Department of Community Affairs Tax Credit projects. 


Kevin Bass, Associate AIA

Kevin Bass, Associate AIA

Kevin has over 20 years of experience in the field of architecture.  He is engaged in the application and design requirements of multi-family housing projects including HUD, USDA Rural Development, and Georgia Department of Community Affairs Tax Credit projects. Kevin is engaged in all aspects of project design and production. He provides construction administration services for projects throughout Georgia and the Southeast.  Kevin's experience includes sustainable design through both LEED certified and EarthCraft certified projects.

Malinda Taylor, Director of Marketing

Malinda Taylor

As Director of Marketing, Malinda's responsibilities for business development focus on strategic research and initiatives for the company’s growth. She plays an instrumental role in the successful procurement of contracts for the firm through research, development, and submission of proposals to Federal, State, and private sector clients. In a dual role, she also provides research and development of physical master plans and programming studies for entities planning for new construction projects.

Bill Booth

Bill Booth

Bill has worked in the production of construction documents  for over 40 years. His work includes over 100 correctional facilities completed for the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, Georgia Department of Corrections, and County governments.  Bill is highly experienced in the production, coordination, and quality control of construction documents for jails, prisons, and juvenile corrections facilities.

Chase Gregory, Associate AIA

Chase Gregory, AIA

Chase has over 30 years of experience in the field of architecture. He has extensive experience in providing on-site construction administration and documentation with projects ranging to over 460,000 square feet.  He is experienced with design-bid-build, design-build, and construction management. He has a thorough understanding of all structural building types, building codes, zoning regulations and approval processes.

Jernii Gardner

Jernii has worked in the field of affordable housing for over 15 years and is an instrumental member of Studio 8 Design's affordable housing studio. Her expertise lies within the application and design requirements of new construction and renovation projects meeting program requirements of HUD, USDA Rural Development, and Georgia Department of Community Affairs Tax Credit projects. 

Melissa Glass, Controller

Melissa Glass

As Studio 8's Controller, Melissa's work  is focused on accounting, process management, and human resources. Her past experience has involved project accounting, accounting processes, and reconciliation. At Studio 8, she has worked to implement new policies and procedures relative to overall firm management. She works closely with the firm’s owners providing insight and key financial data for business operations. Melissa also provides oversight and management of human resource activities including research and compliance.


Chad Belflower

Chad Belflower

Chad has worked in the field of architecture for over 17 years. He specializes in the areas of drafting and production. His work at Studio 8 Design has been focused on multi-family and affordable housing projects.  He has been integrally involved in the timely production of LIHTC application architectural requirements and in the production of construction documents for multi-family housing projects. He is also a part of the team that provides on-site ADA surveys, existing conditions surveys, and production of as-built documents.

Leon Taylor

Leon Taylor

Leon has an extensive career history in both the design and construction professions. Encompassing over 40 years of hands-on experience, his skills include architectural detail design, construction documents production, architectural project management, construction estimating and project management. He has worked extensively with both A/E and construction firms on military bases. Leon holds a Construction Quality Management Certificate issued by the US Army Corps of Engineers and is experienced with 4Clicks Estimating and Microsoft Project software.

Sharon Flythe

Sharon Flythe

Sharon provides project administrative functions for the firm. She works in the administrative production of construction documents and in construction administration documentation for projects. She also provides oversight of needs relative to the effective daily operations of the office. She schedules in-house training for staff's continuing education and professional development relative to industry products and technology.

Tia Battles

As our Project Coordinator, Tia brings her exceptional knowledge of the construction industry to the firm. She grew up with first hand knowledge of construction as her father was a general contractor. Tia has hands-on experience in providing construction administration with a solid understanding of construction best practices. She works side by side with Project Managers to ensure all documentation is correct. Her exceptional organizational skills coupled with her knowledge ensures projects comply with all requirements.

Kelli Pierre, Associate AIA

As an Architectural Intern, Kelli brings hands-on experience to Studio 8. During her breaks from college, she worked in the field of construction gaining valuable first-hand experience. She has experience in architectural design, construction documents production, as-built measurements and documentation, and 3-D modeling. At Studio 8, Kelli works within the Multi-Family Housing Studio providing design, construction documents, and field inspections.

Cortney Grant

Courtney is a member of Studio 8’s technical design staff. He has many years of experience in drafting and design and excels at architectural modeling and renderings. He is currently attending Southern Regional Technical College obtaining an Advanced CAD Certificate.


Jessica Clarke, AIBD

Jessica is a member of Studio 8’s technical design staff providing drafting in the development of construction documents. She received her training from Southern Regional Technical College and was the recipient of SRTC’s Foundation Scholarship Award. Jessica is a professional member of the American Institute of Building Design.

Nathan Faircloth

Nathan is currently working towards his degree in architecture at Georgia Tech. He joined Studio 8 during high school through the Work Based Learning program. He provides drafting and rendering support to Studio 8.

Karson Mistrot

Karson is a member of Studio 8’s technical staff. He works along side the architects and project managers in the Multi-Family Housing Studio in the preparation and coordination of construction documents.


Sarah Law

Sarah is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Interior Design. She works within the studio in the production of construction documents and interior design selections.

Jordan Alderman

Jordan is a graduate of Valdosta State University and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration. He provides project coordination and administration along with construction documents production.
